Restructuring of South Korea's electricity industry from 2001 has unlocked the door to onsite power, and debate on nuclear power has pushed the Korean Government to set targets for CHP and renewables. Another CHP driver is the bottleneck in the electricity grid between the main metropolitan areas and the region where the most nuclear and coal-fired power stations are located.
