Abstract

High frequency intermittent noise from bearing and high vibration at motor body was observed in the squirrel cage induction motor driving cycle gas compressor. Vibration analysis of both DE & NDE bearings was carried out with IRD-880 microprocessor based vibration analyzer. Maximum Vibration velocity was found as 3.95 mm/sec (peak) and displacement as 8 microns. Vibrations were measured on motor body also, which were observed up to 12.2 mm/sec. Operating temperatures of DE and NDE side bearing was found satisfactory, as 52°C & 41°C respectively.
