(The Bulletin on Energy Efficiency, Vol. 7, Annual Issue 2007, p. 6)
Large amounts of energy is used in office and other non-domestic buildings for ventilation, cooling, lighting and heating. It has been estimated that this consumption could be reduced by around 20 percent through improvements in the control of energy, using systems such as Building Management Systems or Building Automation Systems (BAS) and the payback period may be in the region of 3 years. In this paper, we will look at the importance of an electronic Building Management System as part of an Energy Efficient Building.
