Transformer is electromagnetic equipment, which works on the principle of mutual induction. According ~o the number of turns in primary and secondary winding and the flux magnitude in the core, the magnitude of EMF is induced in the windings. This paper deals with the detail principle of magnetic balance test being supported some experimental data and case study reports of different type transformers. Magnetic Balance Test (MBT) is a powerful test to assess about the condition of, magnetic core, winding and other associated parts of the magnetic circuit. For the case of any deformity and anomaly in the magnetic part of the transformer, the magnitude of magnetic flux changes and accordingly the induced emf also changes. The study of this induction emfs and comparative analysis of such with reference benchmark values has been dealt in this paper.
