Grounding system is an important part of the electrical installation considering safety of personnel and security of the electrical power system. This paper deals with the design of grounding system for hydro power plant and difficult conditions like high soil resistivity, limitation of the available laying area, transferred potential etc. Two project sites, viz. Parbati-II H.E. Project and Chamera-II H.E. Project have been considered as case studies.
