Abstract

Frequency Response Analysis possesses the ability to detect mechanical deformation of the transformer winding. However the interpretation is merely confined to comparison of two subsequent acquired data sets. In this paper an attempt is made to derive equivalent network of the transformer winding from its frequency response which involves network synthesis technique. Fitted Transfer Function (FTF) is obtained from frequency response data by using Matlab. The obtained FTF is verified to satisfy the condition of positive realness and Hurwitz Polynomial for network representation. Derivation of equivalent network for an air core reactor from its frequency response is presented. The developed network is simulated to verify and obtain the same frequency response as the actual measured response.
