Hirakud Dam Project.
In this paper a simple- Mathematical formula for design of Earth slopes has been presented. The formula has been derived and its method of application indicated. Suggestions have been given for solving complicated problems of slope design and one full design has been worked out. The extreme simplicity of the formula promises its wide application in the field of earth dam design. The results obtained through the formula compare favourably well with the results obtained through “ slip circle method “ and are a little on the safer side.
