Abstract

In an earlier paper*, the author has given a solution for steady-state axisymmetric turbulent flow in a week homogeneous shear field. The present paper extends the analysis to the unsteady case, in order to study the decay process of the axisymmetric turbulence in the shear field. The analysis is only qualitative, in the sense that it reveals only the form of the decay process, on account of the presence in an implicit form of an unknown constant. This constant can be determined when the initial conditions are fully known as in any particular problem.
