At the time of my deputation to U.S.S.R. in 1960 under U.N.T.A.A. Programme to study the design and construction of dams and powerhouses in that country, I had an opportunity to devote some time on the study of the development of precast technique in the construction of hydraulic structures. In this article, an attempt is made to describe briefly the various aspects regarding the manufacture and use of precast concrete panels for the dams, power houses, etc. In conclusions, the limitations of application of this precast technique in this country are also discussed.
