The paper describes in detail the design and construction of the depressed distributary syphon under the Rajasthan Feeder, wherein the problems of command, lack of time and non-availability of material were faced. These difficulties were overcome in an economical way and a safe design was evolved by the use of hume pipes which were thickened to withstand the requisite high pressures.
