Potential distribution on the regulator floor, as well as on look floor, at chainage 2806 in the B.&I. Canal System, D. V.C., has been investigated by the Electrical Analogy Method. It has been found that, under various conditions, which could have existed under regulator floor, the values of potential gradient, at the end of the floor, could have ranged between 0 08 and 0.24, which are rather high for the type of the fine sand available at the site. These high values of gradient could have resulted in disturbing the soil particles and subsequent failure.
