Electrical Analogy Method has been used for determining the distribution of potentials in the case of stratified sub-soil, consisting of a two-layer strata, below hydraulic structures, like weirs, dams, etc.
Investigation has been conducted for permeability ratio, K1/K2 ranging from 0.002 to infinity. It has been found that the effect of stratification, for the ratios of permeabilities, ranging between 0.03 to 30 is well defined. Beyond these ratios the values change very slowly and outside the range of values of K1/K2, 0.005 and 200, the value remains constant for all practical purposes.
Quantity of seepage through the layer, immediately below the hydraulic structure, can be obtained, within a very wide range of values of ratio of permeabilities, K1/K2 (from 0.002 to infinity).
