Abstract

This article describes a fully transistorised instrument for measurement of the ratio of discharge ‘Q’ through a well point due to seepage to the built up water head ‘h’ that produces the seepage flow. A precise determination of this quantity is essential for finding out the permeability of a soil stratum by the electrical analogy method. The working principle of the instrument has been described in detail, main features of design and construction have been discussed and some results of actual measurements are given.
