Abstract

The paper describes the tests conducted on post-tensioned pre-stressed concrete poles suitable for low and medium voltage power transmission. The pole is assembled out of precast concrete elements of convenient length suitable for easy transport. Tests were conducted on a number of poles of the same height, varying the length of the precast concrete elements. Results show that the number of units used for assembling the pole has no appreciable effect on the ultimate strength of the pole.
