Abstract

Protective grounding is a must in an electrical installation. The cost involved in providing protective grounding may hardly come to 1 per cent of the total cost in case of an extra high voltage substation. But in view of the ever rising cost of materials and our limited financial resources, the design of protective grounding needs to be based on rational deductions and economical considerations. An attempt has been made in this paper to discuss the various aspects involved in the design of protective grounding.
