Beas Project, Talwara Township (Punjab).
The Beas Dam at Pong, an earth gravel shell dam with concrete spillway is under construction. The salient features and the design section of the dam are described in the paper. The foundation conditions and treatment are discussed along with the construction aspects at various stages. The programme and progress of work are enumerated. An account of the indigenous development of equipment required for the project construction is also included.
