Abstract

The development of power engineering has been traced from 1890 when Edison invented, the Incandescent Lamp and Dolivo-Dobrowolski. the three phase induction motor. The decline in interest amongst Electric Engineers for Power Engineering has been pointed out. The challenges of “Tomorrow” such as the thermo-nuclear generation and extra high voltage transmission and the necessity to get ready to face the future problems from now has been stressed.
