Critical depth is a basio parameter in open channel hydraulics. Except for exponential sections, which include triangular and rectangular open channels, no olose form formulae are available for critical depth. For trapezoidal channels, which are most commonly used, implicit tables are available which are not convenient to use. In this note explicit tables have been provided for trapezoidal and circular open channels for determination of critical depth and critical specific energy.
