The development of a nomogram has been discussed in this paper with the help of which tho performance of the EHV transmission lines can be read off directly. No preliminary calculations, as required in the Dwight’s Charts, are necessary. The regulation of a line which depends upon the line parameters, length of the line, active power and power factor of the load at receiving end are calculated analytically on the Digital Computer. The sending end voltage thus obtained for different distances are approximated to a straight line by the method of curve fitting and these are plotted on a set of suitable parallel coordinates such that various receiving end powers at different power factors can bo re-presented by a set of points. The method of using the nomograms is explained by the illustrative examples. A comparison between the nomogram and Dwight’s Chart has also been made.
