A technological revolution in URI hydroelectric project

Today when the whole country is debating over the poor growth of hydropower development and feel concerned over abnormal construction periods a revolutionary breakthrough is taking place quietly in the hinterland of the otherwise disturbed Kashmir Valley. The gigantic 480 MW Uri Hydro-electric Project across River Jhelum is technologically at par with the best of International projects and can be rated decade ahead of the ones in the rest of India in all aspects. This article brings out one of the aspects of the project, namely technological innovations.
