Abstract

The probabilistic modelling of various flood characteristics such as the number of flood events in a year, flood peak magnitude, flood volume and flood duration for a large elongated river basin has been presented using different threshold levels. The distribution functions of annual flood peak, volume and duration series are also derived. Daily dischc1rge data of river Narmada at Garudeshwar are used.
