Abstract

The above analysis clearly shows that net income was high in tail end modernized system tanks farmers. And also there was no wide difference in net income in-between modernized and non modernized system tank category. However, non modernized non system category, there was no much difference in net income in between reach of head, middle and tail. Tank modernization with farmers’ participation shows that cultivated area, crop yield and maintenance of tanks show good sign of improvement. The overall tank performance is high in modernized tanks compared to non-modernized tanks. However, there is no much difference in storage of water, crop yield and irrigation utility in system under modernized and non-modernized system category. Net income is high among large farmers compared to marginal and small farmers.
