Abstract

This paper presents study of dangerous voltages in substation, different soil models and maximum grid current. Further it represents a computer program named RPDGS which can be used for designing the grounding system in uniform layer as well as for two layers soil model. This program can design the grounding system for both Gas Insulated Substation (GIS) and Air Insulted Substation (AIS). This program has been developed using MATLAB GUI.

The computer program may be used for soil modelling & parametric analysis of designing of grounding system by engineers and helps in improving the design of the grounding system.
