Abstract

The paper describes aspect of designing earth mat for GIS substations with high soil resistivity & limited area. The methodology, considerations & factors for designing earthmat has also been elaborated. The paper also describe a typical case study for design of earthmat with soil high resistivity and high fault current for 400/230 kV GIS Substation. A comparative analysis in results obtained by software & manual calculations for design of earthmat with high resistivity & high fault current is also elaborated in this paper.
