Short Circuit Electromagnetic Forces cause serious damage to the transformer. Effects caused by short circuit forces are considered as important parameters while designing the transformer. So, a 630 kVA, 11000/433V distribution transformer has been modelled and the effects of short circuit electromagnetic forces have been studied. Finite Element Method (FEM) has been used for calculating short circuit electromagnetic forces in the windings of transformer. Short circuit electromagnetic force caused by axial asymmetry of low voltage winding and high voltage winding also been calculated separately.
