Abstract

Construction and blasting activities present a major concern to surrounding structures, local residents and to the environment. When people feel that their house would shake from blasting vibrations it causes concern. Blast vibration monitoring therefore assumes significance in the overall interest of any blasting and construction related project. Vibrations caused by any regular movement of machinery also sometimes upset the people affected by it. This paper describes in detail about the vibration monitoring on the structures, blasting and its effects on structures and human responses.
