Bhadra Reservoir Project is developed as Multipurpose project. Bhadra Hydro electric project was commissioned during 1963. Generating units after serving for more than 50 years experienced problems and R&M works were taken to restore the generation. This paper deals with Renovation and Modernization program taken up on 2x12MW Generating unit Bhadra Hydro Electric Project (BHEP). The rehabilitation scheme, problems encountered in its execution, remedial measures and benefits derived out of the same have been discussed in this write up. Action taken to solve the problems along with the problems noticed after opening of the units has been detailed in the paper.
