Abstract

The Automation System provides all functions required for the safe and reliable Operation of power stations. The automation system includes protection, monitoring and control of power plants. Microprocessor based techniques make it possible to combine many functions into one physical unit. The system is based on the concept of distributed intelligence, where each terminal is equipped with self supervising functions to monitor conditions and performance. The high operational reliability, automatic self-testing and supervision mean that maintenance cost and time is considerably reduced.
