Abstract

With the need to show increased return on assets, the utility Engineers are facing the dichotomy of reducing capital and maintenance expenditure whilst attempting to meet more demanding supply availability criteria.

Transformer is the most vital component within a power distribution system and it would be advantageous if its service life could be extended as much as possible, without detracting from reliability.

This paper will deal with the experience of the organization CESC Limited in protecting the power transformers from its biggest threat i.e. moisture.
