Abstract

Narmada basin of the State of Madhya Pradesh has very fertile land and is second to none when compared with the best fertile agricultural lands of the country. The commanded areas of Tawa, Bargi, Barna and Indira Sagar project are known for their fertility of land and excellent farm-water management. Techno-economic considerations in the past have dominated the planning of Narmada basin projects in Madhya Pradesh.
