Indira Sagar hydroelectric project is a multipurpose project on Narmada river near Punasa village in Khandwa district of Madhya Pradesh with an installed capacity of 1000 MW for power generation. The project has been planned to generate firm power of 225 MW in the initial phase and 118 MW in the final phase. The reservoir would the largest reservoir in the country once it is filled up to FRL (El 262.13 m).
