Design aspects of radial gates and stop logs of Indira Sagar Project

Hydro mechanical equipments of Indira Sagar project were divided in two packages for purpose of procurement, erection and commissioning. The first package mainly comprises of penstock intake gates and stop logs, Draft tube gates, Diversion tunnel gates, etc. including their operating equipments. The spillway gates comprising of radial gates and stop logs and their operating equipments including automatic reservoir monitoring and control system (ARMAC) has been procured in the second package. The aspects mainly related to spillway gates and ARMAC system has been highlighted in this article.
