Rapid urbanization and growth have resulted in increased levels of pollution in many cities and especially in Delhi. There is a thrust by Government to increase the share of Renewables Integration into the Grid to 175 GW by 2022. The vehicular pollution is one of the major factors for pollution. India has the second largest (2W) two wheeler market in the world, which accounts to 80% 2 W and over 230 million ICE engines. The advancements in the battery technology have led the electrification of the transportation sector. With the penetration of distributed energy resources (DERs) and EVs into the Distribution Grid, it is becoming complex as the conventional model of a distribution grid is with unidirectional flow of electricity. As it is, the utility face challenges due to dynamic load and with the addition of EV charging will make consumption pattern even more difficult to forecast and schedule. This paper aims to discuss the challenges and its mitigation.
