Abstract

Through this study wetried to highlight the possible change in electricity policy about tariff for Indian power sector and its effects with possible implications. The changes are identified by reviewing Electricity related amendment draftof 2020 and its different take away with respect to rationalizing of tariff, improving billing and collection mechanism, reducing cross subsidy. We seek to analyze theeffects of this draft by conducting a qualitative research. Through this qualitative research, we tried to findits impact on India’ s power sector. In addition to this, we seek to findalternative ways of paying forenergy, which will help to provide incentives and increase the efficiency of the use of electricity. It will also promote a fair and full recovery of electricity supply costs and provide clear information to customers about the effect of pricing and their impacton electricity business.
