Since the outbreak of Corona virus, the world has come to a halt and has undergone lockdown. Indian authority also decided to follow the path of lockdown to combat Covid-19. All spheres of life have been influenced due to this global pandemic. Difficulties are being faced due to lockdown, but people have accepted the challenge of staying at home and giving a big fight to corona virus. Lockdown, limitations of movement and instructions of staying home poses a big challenge for power sector, especially renewable sector of India. Due to imposition of lockdown in India, the balance of demand (consumption) & supply (generation) has been drastically disturbed. This article gives overview of impact of Covid-19 on renewable power sectors based on the data available on public domain. The data of renewable power sector on posoco.in/is available till March 31. So our study in this articles confines up to 31st March.
