Abstract

One of the actions to eliminate microorganisms in water including total coliform is the use of ultraviolet light. The purpose of this study is to treat water that has not met quality standards as drinking water to meet drinking water requirements. The method used is preceded by affixing Coagulant Aid, then the filtration treatment uses polypropylene sediment. The removal of Fe and Mn using Ferrolite, decreased hardness using Manganese Greensand, cation reduction using anion resin, and reduction of anion using cation resin. Microfiltration uses the RO membrane, and as a water sterilizer uses UV light. Conclusion; Groundwater treatment that does not meet drinking water requirements using polypropylene, manganese greensand, ferrolite, resin, RO, and UV sterilizer treatments can produce water that meets the drinking water quality standards with a reduced value; Total Dissolved Solids is 520 mg/l, Turbidity is 29.23 NTU scale, Color 33.1 PtCo units, Iron 0.3487 mg/l Fe, Manganese 4.591 mg/l Mn, Fluoride 0.196 mg/l F, Total Hardness 280.4 mg/l CaCO3, Chloride 55.5 mg/l Cl, Nitrate 0.185 mg/l NO3-N, Nitrite 0.003 mg/l NO2-N, Cyanide 0.001 mg/l CN, Sulphate 90.6 mg/l SO4, Ammonia 0.0091 mg/l NH3-N, Organic substances 2.773 mg/l KMnO4, Detergent 0.037 mg/l LAS, and Total Coliform 1,414 MPN/100 ml.
