The role of renewable energy sources is increasing for generation of power among the existing sources of power generation. Among various renewable energy sources, run of river based hydro power is found the most considerable and promising source of energy. In operation of plants, the energy generation is the main aspect which provides its usefulness. In order to maintain the economy of operation, it is necessary to analyses energy generation based on the plant operation parameters in order to improve the overall performance. In the present paper, annual energy generation correlations has been developed for run of river small hydropower schemes-considering discharge, head, efficiency, headloss and number of turbines as the influencing parameters. The-validation of developed correlation has also been carried out and it has been found that the correlation developed for energy generation can be used to determine the estimated energy generation at planning stage.
