Drainage arrangements of underground works of Tehri Hydro Power Plant

In a storage hydro power plant, abutment hill mass gets surcharged with water and if there is an underground power house the generating units, transformers and other electrical equipments become endangered to water falling on them, if adequate drainage arrangements are not provided. For Tehri Hydro Power Plant seepage studies of left bank hill mass housing the units and transformers were performed to optimize the drainage arrangements. The present paper describes such arrangements.
