Tehri powerhouse is an underground powerhouse of 1000 MW capacity. It is equipped with four vertical Fransis turbines, each of 250 MW capacity. Ventilation system has been installed to provide fresh air in the underground powerhouse and remove hot stale air. It maintains comfortable environment for working personnel and removes the heat generated by the equipment.
