An overview of Koteshwar Hydro Electric Project

Koteshwar Hydro Electric Project is an integral part of Tehri Hydro Power Complex comprising of Tehri Dam & HPP (1000 MW), Tehri PSP (1000 MW) and Koteshwar HEP (400 MW) to develop hydro-electric potential of river Bhagirathi. The Koteshwar reservoir shall serve for re-regulation of the flow to be released from the Tehri reservoir and also act as a lower reservoir of Tehri PSP for pumping mode. This will facilitate the functioning of Tehri Hydro Power Complex as a major peaking station in Northern grid, having installed capacity of 2400MW. The paper presents an overview of the project.
