Abstract

In cop 26 at Glasgow India has declared a vision mission to achieve net zero Emission by 2070. In this mission Hydrogen has a big role to play in Energy Transition. As Hydrogen packs 2.6 times more Energy per kilogram than natural gas. But this engine did not materialize because of its explosive nature, a bad name, and both gasses were expensive to produce. The First commercial car was sold by Toyota company, Mirai, travelling 1352 K.M. on 5.7 kg of Hydrogen in1966. Since then, Research, design, development, cost reduction etc., work is being done by so many automobile companies in different countries to use green Hydrogen as a future fuel in transportation industry along with other uses of Hydrogen in manufacturing and agriculture industry. Climate change noise, has accelerated the activities in Hydrogen energy potential particularly in heavy weight vehicles, where Plug in vehicles (Lithium Battery use vehicles) becomes costlier. About 10,000 Hydrogen cars were sold last year in the world. Norway is taking the lead in this Energy Transition from fossil fuel to green hydrogen fuel. Hydrogen is also called an energy carrier like electricity.
