Selection criteria for generator transformer in sub & super critical power stations

Generator Transformer is one of the critical and significant equipment of power generating unit. Selection, design, manufacturing, erection and commissioning and subsequent operation and maintenance of it are major aspects for any power plant. Considering the present trend of large size sub and supper critical power projects, its implementation schedule, cost and space availability, it is need of the hour to think optimise selection of Generator Transformer. It's a challenge not only to engineering consultant but for all stakeholders say including owner of the power plant, transformer designer & manufacturer to meet the present power demand and the target fixed by Ministry of Power.
