The transmission structure is a complex of 3D structures with some members in the 4th plane such as hip bracing & cross-arm members. The detail engineering of the tower forms a very important component as all transmission line towers are proto type full scale tested before mass fabrication. Hence it is highly necessary that the detail engineering does not deviate much from the design engineering theoretical model. At the same time, the detail engineering should be more competitive and provision of plates/gusset plates should be to the minimal. Keeping all these in mind and approach towards CAD/CAM solutions is achieved in the software ‘L&T Detail Automate’. L&T Detail-Automate is developed based on Object Oriented Programming (OOP) using AUTOCAD ‘Object ARx’ environment in VC++.
