One way to reduce the hydraulic jump that occurs is by minimizing the velocity flow and supercritical flow that passes under the sluice gate by placing an additional structure in the form of a baffle block in front of the sluice gate. This research aimed to analyzed the ratio of height (hb), width (w) and location (X) ratio of square baffle block to know which type of baffle block that provide the best dampening effect on hydraulics jump that occurs in a model test channel using sluice gate while additional structures as baffle blocks installed at a certain distance from the sluice gate. The model test of channel is made from fiberglass, width (B) = 0.50 m, length (L) = 9 m. Sluice gate are made of polished and painted wood with dimensions of width (B) = 0.50 m; height (h) = 80 cm; thickness (t) = 2 cm. The baffle block is made of fiberglass in a square shape. The research results show that square baffle block model K3 (21 mm x 21 mm) gave the better height-ratio (hb/y1), location ratio (X/y1) and width ratio (w/y1) than the other which provide the best dampening of hydraulics jump that occurs.
