Excessive stress on water resources due to increase in population all over the globe has compelled the Water Managers n to look for Technically feasible alternatives for meeting the demand of water for various uses. Availability & treatment of water for drinking purpose is becoming very scarce & expensive, as the population level has increased. Therefore, it has become imperative that every drop of waste water is intercepted, treated and recycled.
At CSTM, Mumbai, the requirement of water for various purposed is substantial and Railways have to depend on outside sources for fulfillment of this requirement.
An attempt was, therefore, made to develop our own resource by recycling the water to reduce dependence, save cost and also to help conserve, valuable water, although in a small way. This paper deals with the efforts made in this direction, by detailing construction and operational as acts, eater quality, economical viability and the experience gained in the running do this Water Recycling plant.
