Abstract

This study contains information on general topics and items pertaining to safety when installing mobile substation equipment. IEEE Standard 1268-2016 recognizes that mobile substations vary widely regarding the particular devices and equipment used in its assembly. It is beyond the scope of this standard/guide to provide a specific step-by-step set of instructions for individual units. IEEE Guide for Safety in the Installation of Mobile Substation Equipment covers installation of mobile substation equipment up to 245 kV. The purpose of the overview of this guide is to establish general transport, setup and installation guidelines when using mobile substation equipment, with special regards to safety.
