On-line facility for Dynamic Short-circuit Testing of Transformers upto 765 kV - NHPTL Bina

The Transformers being the most expensive single equipment in any project, are important and critical item for the Generation, Transmission and Distribution projects in Power System applications. Transformers are subjected to number of external faults during its operational life cycle. Short-circuit withstand capability of Transformers is extremely important for ensuring reliability of power transformers applications. The Short-circuit test conduction validates both the design and quality manufacturing process involved in making of Transformer. This paper shares the introduction & experience of Online Short-circuit testing facility up to 765kV Voltage Class Transformers.
