Lake rejuvenation is a critical environmental challenge, especially in densely populated areas where water bodies suffer from pollution, eutrophication, and declining water quality. In this proposal, we explore the innovative solution offered by Nualgi Technology—a biotech company based in Bangalore, India. Nualgi is a proprietary blend of micro-nutrients, including silica, iron, and manganese, formulated as nano-particles. When added to water bodies, Nualgi triggers the growth of diatoms—a type of algae with remarkable properties. Nualgi’s unique approach involves harnessing the power of diatoms to restore and enhance water ecosystems. This proposal outlines the methodology, benefits, and potential impact of implementing Nualgi in lake rejuvenation projects. Radha Kunj lake with an approximate area of 12.5 Acres, is one of the main attractions in Art of Living Ashram on Kanakapura Road, Bengaluru. It has small catchment receiving rain water and was a clean water storage serving fishes and birds in a serene atmosphere. Though the lake is surrounded by environmentally clean area, currently the stream flowing from Kuppareddy Kere, in the peri-urban area, carries high levels of both domestic and industrial pollutants that deteriorates the water quality leading to considerable reduction in DO (Dissolved Oxygen), loss of aquatic life and seriously affecting the aquatic food chain. This is causing unacceptable odour and nuisance for thousands of people visiting regularly.
