In this study, an attempt has been made to develop stochastic model for estimation of runoff from Himalayan watersheds. For this, first of all, various geomorphic parameters were calculated and estimated through synergistic use of remotely sensed data, ancillary data and limited field survey. Thereafter, multivariate optimization study has been carried out to delineate the most effective geomorphic parameters from information content criteria. Finally, a model has been developed to predict the runoff using the most influential geomorphic parameters. The model efficiency was found to be more than 80%.
