Abstract

In Energy Sector, Accounting of Energy and its effective usage to be Audited in every point in which the energy is being distributed is considered to be Pivotal activity to achieve the optimum performance by regulating the Distribution System as a whole.

The Energy Accounting and Auditing will evolve the procedures and checks to the accounting of Energy right from generating stations to consumer level.it starts from each feeder to record the quantum of Energy recorded, supplied and billed to various categories of consumers. it facilitates the Improvement in metering billing, collection. it also encourages to analyse energy accounting to identify high losses area.

Further it will be helpful to segregate the losses into technical and non technical(commercial losses) based on that follow up action will be taken to reduce the losses.. The above consistent activities periodical review will certainly improve the performance of the Organisation.

More importantly the Financial turnaround will be achieved With a well planned energy Accounting and Auditing with greater accountability at all levels.
